Ingredients

  • 1 cup kava root, peeled and chopped
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup honey or sugar (optional, to taste)
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the chopped kava root and coconut milk.
  2. Blend on high speed for 3-4 minutes until the kava root is well incorporated into the coconut milk.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove any remaining kava root fibers.
  4. Return the strained liquid to the blender and add honey or sugar, if using, and ice cubes.
  5. Blend again until smooth and frothy.
  6. Pour the kava smoothie into glasses and serve immediately.
