Kebab Bil Laham (qatari Spiced Lamb Kebabs With Mint Yogurt Dip)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 skewers, soaked in water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground lamb, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Divide the lamb mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a sausage shape around a skewer.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the kebabs for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  4. While the kebabs are cooking, prepare the mint yogurt dip by mixing the chopped mint, Greek yogurt, and lemon juice in a bowl. Season with salt to taste.
  5. Serve the kebabs hot with the mint yogurt dip on the side.
