Kebab Bil Laham (qatari Spiced Lamb Kebabs With Mint Yogurt Dip)
Kebab Bil Laham is a traditional Qatari dish featuring spiced lamb kebabs served with a refreshing mint yogurt dip. This flavorful and aromatic dish is a popular choice for gatherings and celebrations in Qatar.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 8 skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the ground lamb, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Divide the lamb mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a sausage shape around a skewer.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the kebabs for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
- While the kebabs are cooking, prepare the mint yogurt dip by mixing the chopped mint, Greek yogurt, and lemon juice in a bowl. Season with salt to taste.
- Serve the kebabs hot with the mint yogurt dip on the side.
