Keftedes Galore
Keftedes Galore is a traditional Cypriot dish consisting of delicious meatballs flavored with a blend of aromatic herbs and spices. These juicy and flavorful meatballs are perfect for a family dinner or a gathering with friends.
Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup olive oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, parsley, mint, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, nutmeg, breadcrumbs, and egg. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
- Transfer the cooked meatballs to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
- Serve the keftedes hot with your choice of side dishes or dipping sauces.
