Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, parsley, mint, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, nutmeg, breadcrumbs, and egg. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Transfer the cooked meatballs to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  5. Serve the keftedes hot with your choice of side dishes or dipping sauces.
