Keftedes Kick
Keftedes are traditional Cypriot meatballs that are bursting with flavor. This recipe for Keftedes Kick will surely spice up your mealtime with its delicious blend of herbs and spices.
Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, garlic, parsley, mint, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs and set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Carefully place the meatballs in the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 10-12 minutes.
- Remove the meatballs from the skillet and place on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
- Serve the Keftedes hot with your choice of side dishes.
