Ingredients
- 4 burger buns
- 1 cup chickpea flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced into rounds
- 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- Lettuce leaves
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt (or plant-based yogurt for vegan option)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix chickpea flour, cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add water to form a smooth batter.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan. Dip potato slices in the batter and fry until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Toast the burger buns until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading yogurt on the bottom half of each bun, then layering with lettuce, tomato, onion, and the bhajia. Top with the other half of the bun.
