Ingredients

  • 12 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the mozzarella cheese sticks in half to make 24 shorter sticks.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix the almond flour, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Dip each mozzarella stick into the beaten eggs, then coat with the almond flour mixture, and repeat for a double coating.
  4. Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 20 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the mozzarella sticks until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from the pan and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.
