Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup berbere spice mix
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, berbere spice mix, and salt. Mix well and form the mixture into meatballs.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the meatballs and brown on all sides.
- Once the meatballs are browned, add the beef broth, chopped tomatoes, and tomato paste to the pot. Stir gently to combine.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Serve the Key Wat meatballs hot with injera or rice.
