Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 tbsp black sesame seeds
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat a pan over medium heat and dry roast the black sesame seeds until fragrant. Grind them into a fine powder and set aside.
- Heat oil in a large pot or skillet. Add the chopped onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
- Add the chicken pieces to the pot and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Stir in the turmeric, cumin, coriander, and garam masala. Cook for a few minutes until the spices are fragrant.
- Add the ground black sesame powder and mix well to coat the chicken.
- Pour in 1 cup of water, cover the pot, and let the chicken simmer for 20-25 minutes or until fully cooked.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
