Khao Niao Mamuang, also known as Thai Mango Sticky Rice Pudding, is a popular and delicious Thai dessert. This sweet and creamy treat is made with glutinous rice, fresh mango, and coconut milk, creating a perfect balance of flavors and textures.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups glutinous rice
- 1 1/2 cups coconut milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Wash the glutinous rice and soak it in water for 1 hour.
- After soaking, drain the rice and steam it for 30 minutes or until tender.
- In a saucepan, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Cook over low heat until the sugar is dissolved.
- Place the steamed rice in a bowl and pour half of the coconut milk mixture over the rice. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Peel and slice the mangoes.
- To serve, place a portion of the sticky rice on a plate, arrange the mango slices on the side, and drizzle with the remaining coconut milk mixture. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
