Kheer (sweet And Sticky Rice Pudding)
Kheer is a traditional Bangladeshi dessert made with sweet and sticky rice pudding. It is a popular dish during festivals and special occasions.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Basmati rice
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews)
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1 tablespoon raisins
Instructions
- Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, bring the milk to a boil.
- Drain the rice and add it to the boiling milk. Cook on low heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once the rice is cooked and the mixture thickens, add sugar, cardamom powder, nuts, and raisins. Cook for another 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it cool. The kheer will thicken as it cools.
