Khinkali (circassian Style Beef Dumplings)
Khinkali is a traditional Circassian dish of juicy beef dumplings, typically served as an appetizer or main course. These dumplings are filled with a flavorful mixture of beef, herbs, and spices, and are usually enjoyed with a side of sour cream or a spicy dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 20 dumpling wrappers
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, coriander, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Place a small spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and pleat the edges together to seal the dumpling.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the dumplings to the boiling water and cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until they float to the surface and the meat is cooked through.
- Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve hot with sour cream or your favorite dipping sauce.
