Khinkali (circassian Style Dumplings)
Khinkali is a traditional Circassian dumpling filled with spiced meat and broth, originating from the Caucasus region. These delicious dumplings are a popular dish in Circassian cuisine, and are often enjoyed with friends and family.
Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- 20 dumpling wrappers
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef, onion, garlic, coriander, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
- Add water to the meat mixture and mix until well combined.
- Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
- Bring the edges of the wrapper together and twist to seal, creating a pleated effect at the top.
- In a large pot of boiling water, cook the dumplings for 8-10 minutes or until they float to the surface.
- Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve hot.
