Khinkali (spicy Beef Dumplings)
Khinkali are traditional spicy beef dumplings from Circassian cuisine. They are a popular dish in the Caucasus region and are known for their juicy filling and twisted top.
Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- 20 dumpling wrappers
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef, onion, garlic, cayenne pepper, coriander, salt, and black pepper.
- Add water and mix until well combined.
- Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
- Pinch the edges together to seal the dumplings, leaving a small opening at the top.
- Twist the top to seal the dumpling.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the dumplings.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes or until the dumplings float to the surface.
- Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve hot.
