Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and boiled
  • 1 cup ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons pine nuts
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mash the boiled potatoes and let them cool.
  2. In a pan, sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
  3. Add the ground meat, pine nuts, allspice, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to the pan. Cook until the meat is browned.
  4. Take a portion of the mashed potatoes and flatten it in your palm. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center and shape the potato around it into a ball.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan and fry the potato balls until golden brown.
  6. Remove the kibbeh batata from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
