Kibinai (lithuanian Kibinai)
Kibinai, also known as Lithuanian Kibinai, are savory pastries filled with spiced meat and onions, traditionally enjoyed in Lithuania. They are perfect for a cozy family meal or a special occasion.
Ingredients
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 250ml warm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 500g ground pork
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, warm water, salt, and vegetable oil. Knead the dough until smooth, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the ground pork, onions, paprika, black pepper, and salt to make the filling.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each piece into a circle. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle, then fold the dough over the filling and crimp the edges to seal.
- Place the kibinai on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
