Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup jam (apricot or raspberry)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in the sour cream and egg yolk until a dough forms.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Roll out each portion of dough into a circle and cut into 6 wedges.
  7. Spread a thin layer of jam on each wedge and roll up from the wide end to the point.
  8. Place the kiflice on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let the kiflice cool for a few minutes, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
