Kimchi Fried Rice (김치볶음밥)
김치볶음밥 (Kimchi Fried Rice) is a popular Korean dish made with kimchi and rice, stir-fried together with various ingredients to create a flavorful and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 cup kimchi, chopped
- 1/2 cup pork belly or bacon, diced
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
- Add pork belly (or bacon) and cook until browned.
- Add onion and garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
- Add kimchi and stir-fry for a few minutes.
- Add rice, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Stir-fry until well combined.
- Push the fried rice to one side of the pan and crack the eggs into the empty space. Scramble the eggs and mix with the rice.
- Add green onions and season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir-fry for another minute.
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
