King Chilli Chutney
King Chilli Chutney is a popular Naga Cuisine condiment known for its fiery and pungent flavor. This spicy chutney is made from the hottest chili pepper in the world, the Bhut Jolokia, also known as the Ghost Pepper. It is a perfect accompaniment to Naga dishes and adds a kick to any meal.
Ingredients
- 10 King Chilies (Bhut Jolokia)
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1-inch ginger, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
Instructions
- Wash and deseed the King Chilies. Wear gloves to avoid skin irritation.
- In a blender, combine the deseeded chilies, tomatoes, onion, garlic, ginger, and salt. Blend to a smooth paste.
- Transfer the mixture to a pan and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add vinegar and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Store in a clean, airtight jar in the refrigerator.
