Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
- In a separate bowl, combine the chopped dates, walnuts, cardamom, and cinnamon.
- Take a small piece of dough and flatten it into a circle. Place a spoonful of the date and walnut mixture in the center, then fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges to form a biscuit.
- Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with milk.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- Allow the kleicha to cool before serving.
