Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the flour, salt, and cardamom to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the chopped walnuts, dates, and water to make the filling.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Take a small portion of the dough and flatten it into a circle. Place a spoonful of the date and walnut filling in the center, then fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges to form a crescent shape.
  6. Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
