Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, melted butter, sugar, cardamom, and cinnamon until a dough forms.
- In a separate bowl, combine the dates, walnuts, honey, and water to make the filling.
- Divide the dough into small balls and flatten each ball into a circle on a floured surface.
- Place a spoonful of the date and walnut filling in the center of each circle of dough.
- Pinch the edges of the dough together to seal the filling inside.
- Place the pastries on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow the kleicha to cool before serving.
