Klepe (bosnian Klepe)
Klepe, also known as Bosnian Klepe, are delicious Bosnian dumplings filled with seasoned ground meat and served with a tangy yogurt sauce. This traditional Balkan dish is a comforting and flavorful meal that is perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the ground meat, onion, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour and water to form a smooth dough. Roll out the dough and cut it into small circles.
- Place a small amount of the meat mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Drop the klepe into the boiling water and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
- While the klepe are cooking, mix the yogurt with chopped parsley and a pinch of salt.
- Once the klepe are cooked, remove them from the water and serve with the yogurt sauce drizzled on top.
