Knafeh Delight
Knafeh Delight is a traditional Israeli dessert that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. This delicious pastry is made with shredded phyllo dough, sweet cheese, and a drizzle of syrup, creating a delightful combination of flavors and textures.
Ingredients
- 1 package shredded phyllo dough
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups sweet cheese, such as ricotta or mozzarella
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup rose water
- 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread half of the shredded phyllo dough in a baking dish and drizzle half of the melted butter over it.
- In a bowl, mix the sweet cheese with sugar and spread it over the phyllo dough in the baking dish.
- Layer the remaining shredded phyllo dough on top and drizzle the remaining melted butter over it.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- While the knafeh is baking, prepare the syrup by boiling water, sugar, and rose water in a saucepan until it thickens slightly.
- Once the knafeh is done, pour the syrup over it and sprinkle with chopped pistachios.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
