Ingredients

  • 1 cup black sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup jaggery (or brown sugar)
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. In a pan, dry roast the black sesame seeds until they turn golden brown and release a nutty aroma. Let them cool.
  2. Grind the roasted sesame seeds into a fine powder using a blender or food processor.
  3. In a separate pan, heat the water and jaggery (or brown sugar) until the jaggery dissolves completely.
  4. Add the ground sesame powder to the pan and stir continuously to avoid lumps.
  5. Cook the mixture on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring frequently, until it thickens into a pudding-like consistency.
  6. Stir in the cardamom powder and remove from heat.
  7. Pour the pudding into serving bowls and let it cool before serving.
