Ingredients

  • 500g ground lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground lamb, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, and chopped parsley until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a long, oval-shaped kofta. Thread the kofta onto skewers if desired.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the kofta for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  4. While the kofta is cooking, prepare the tahini sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the tahini, lemon juice, water, and salt until smooth and creamy.
  5. Serve the spiced lamb kofta with the tahini sauce drizzled on top, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
