Koli Barthad (coorgi Chicken Fry)

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons Coorgi masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken pieces with turmeric powder, Coorgi masala powder, and salt. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated chicken pieces until they are golden brown. Set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add more oil if needed and sauté the onions, green chilies, and ginger-garlic paste until the onions are translucent.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
  5. Now, add the fried chicken pieces to the pan and mix well with the onion-tomato mixture. Cook for another 10 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
