Koli Curry (coorgi Style Chicken Curry)
Koli Curry is a traditional Coorgi-style chicken curry that is rich in flavor and spices. This aromatic dish is a staple in Kodava Cuisine and is perfect for a hearty meal with rice or roti.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 2 tbsp Coorgi masala powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in the Coorgi masala powder, turmeric powder, and curry leaves.
- Pour in the tomato puree and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add coconut milk and simmer for another 15 minutes.
- Season with salt and serve hot with rice or roti.
