Kori Sukka (mangalorean Chicken Sukka)
Kori Sukka, also known as Mangalorean Chicken Sukka, is a popular dish from Karnataka Cuisine. It is a spicy and flavorful chicken dish that is typically served as a side dish with rice or roti.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 4-5 dried red chilies
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, dried red chilies, and curry leaves.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until the chicken is tender and the masala is well coated.
- Add grated coconut and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
