Kori Sukka (spicy Chicken Sukka)
Kori Sukka is a popular dish from Mangalurean Cuisine, known for its spicy and flavorful chicken preparation.
Ingredients
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 10-12 dried red chilies
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 inch ginger, chopped
- 6-8 garlic cloves
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 2-3 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Grind grated coconut, dried red chilies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, ginger, and garlic to a fine paste.
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion until golden brown.
- Add the ground masala paste and cook for a few minutes.
- Add the chopped tomato, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are tender and the masala coats the chicken well.
- Sprinkle garam masala and mix well. Cook for a few more minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve hot.
