Ingredients

  • 500g chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 10-12 dried red chilies
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 inch ginger, chopped
  • 6-8 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 2-3 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Grind grated coconut, dried red chilies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, ginger, and garlic to a fine paste.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion until golden brown.
  3. Add the ground masala paste and cook for a few minutes.
  4. Add the chopped tomato, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates.
  5. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are tender and the masala coats the chicken well.
  6. Sprinkle garam masala and mix well. Cook for a few more minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and serve hot.
