Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg to the flour mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Gradually add the remaining 1/4 cup of flour while kneading the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a 12x18 inch rectangle.
  6. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly on top.
  7. Roll up the dough tightly from the long side and cut it into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the cinnamon rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let the rolls cool slightly before serving.
