Ingredients

  • 500g phyllo dough
  • 250g sweet cheese, crumbled
  • 100g sugar
  • 100g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the sweet cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Brush a baking dish with melted butter.
  4. Layer half of the phyllo dough sheets in the baking dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
  5. Spread the cheese mixture over the phyllo dough.
  6. Layer the remaining phyllo dough sheets on top, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
  7. Brush the top with the remaining melted butter.
  8. Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
