Ingredients

  • 2 cups grated pumpkin
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the grated pumpkin, flour, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Scoop a spoonful of the pumpkin mixture and carefully place it in the hot oil. Flatten the fritter slightly with the back of the spoon.
  4. Fry the fritters for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  6. Serve the Kovun Chiburek hot with your favorite dipping sauce or yogurt.
