Ingredients
- 2 cups grated pumpkin
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the grated pumpkin, flour, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Scoop a spoonful of the pumpkin mixture and carefully place it in the hot oil. Flatten the fritter slightly with the back of the spoon.
- Fry the fritters for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
- Serve the Kovun Chiburek hot with your favorite dipping sauce or yogurt.
