Kozhi Tikka (spiced Chicken Tikka)

Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Skewers for grilling

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder, lemon juice, and salt.
  2. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and mix well to coat the chicken. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  3. Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto skewers.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the skewers on the pan and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a charred exterior.
  5. Remove the chicken tikka from the skewers and serve hot with mint chutney and naan bread.
