Kozhikode Halwa
Kozhikode Halwa is a popular sweet dish from the Kerala Cuisine, known for its unique texture and rich flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of wheat flour
- 2 cups of sugar
- 4 cups of water
- 1 cup of ghee
- 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup of cashew nuts
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, roast the wheat flour in ghee until it turns golden brown.
- In another pan, heat water and sugar to make a syrup.
- Slowly add the roasted wheat flour to the syrup while continuously stirring to avoid lumps.
- Add cardamom powder and continue to cook on low heat, stirring continuously.
- Once the mixture thickens, add cashew nuts and mix well.
- Transfer the halwa to a greased plate and allow it to cool before cutting into pieces.
