Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs (700g) beef sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 metal or wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, vegetable oil, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, turmeric, cayenne pepper, minced garlic, chopped onion, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the beef cubes to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  3. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated beef cubes onto the skewers, dividing them evenly.
  6. Grill the beef skewers for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the meat reaches your desired level of doneness.
  7. Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
