Kudat Fish Soup
Kudat Fish Soup is a traditional Sabahan dish that is both flavorful and comforting. Made with fresh fish and an assortment of local ingredients, this soup is a staple in Sabahan cuisine.
Ingredients
- 500g fresh fish fillet, cut into chunks
- 1 liter water
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, sliced
- 2 lemongrass stalks, smashed
- 1 red chili, sliced
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Handful of fresh basil leaves
Instructions
- In a pot, bring the water to a boil.
- Add the tomatoes, onion, garlic, ginger, lemongrass, and chili. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add the fish chunks and cook for another 10 minutes or until the fish is cooked through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
