Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp cumin

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, and sugar. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
  6. Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
