Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 4 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions. Sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they turn golden brown.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Whisk the yogurt and add it to the chicken. Cook for another 10 minutes until the chicken is tender.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
