Kukulhu Riha (spicy Grilled Prawns)

Ingredients

  • 500g prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, salt, and vegetable oil to make a marinade.
  2. Add the prawns to the marinade and toss to coat them evenly. Let them marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the prawns onto skewers and grill for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice char.
  5. Remove the prawns from the grill and serve hot with a side of steamed rice or a fresh salad.
