Kukulhu Riha (spicy Grilled Prawns)
Kukulhu Riha, also known as Spicy Grilled Prawns, is a popular dish in Maldivian cuisine. This flavorful and spicy seafood dish is perfect for a summer barbecue or a special dinner.
Ingredients
- 500g prawns, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, salt, and vegetable oil to make a marinade.
- Add the prawns to the marinade and toss to coat them evenly. Let them marinate for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the prawns onto skewers and grill for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice char.
- Remove the prawns from the grill and serve hot with a side of steamed rice or a fresh salad.
