Kukulhu Tikka (maldivian Chicken Tikka)

Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into cubes

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, lemon juice, and salt.
  2. Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. In a pan, heat the oil and sauté the sliced onion until golden brown.
  4. Add the marinated chicken and cook until the chicken is tender and the marinade is well incorporated.
  5. Add the bell pepper and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and serve hot.
