Kulhi Boakibaa Curry (spicy Chickpea Curry)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 green chili, sliced
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and green chili. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  5. Stir in coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the cooked chickpeas and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh cilantro.
  8. Remove from heat and serve hot with steamed rice or flatbread.
