Kung Pao Brussel Sprouts
Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts is a delicious and flavorful twist on a classic Chinese dish. The combination of crispy Brussels sprouts, savory sauce, and crunchy peanuts makes this dish a perfect side or main course.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup peanuts
- 2 green onions, chopped
- For the sauce:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together all the sauce ingredients and set aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the Brussels sprouts and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are golden and crispy, about 8-10 minutes.
- Push the Brussels sprouts to one side of the pan and add the garlic and peanuts. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.
- Pour the sauce over the Brussels sprouts and toss to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions before serving.
