Kung Pao Chicken Panda Express
Kung Pao Chicken is a popular Chinese dish known for its bold flavors and spicy kick. This recipe is inspired by the version served at Panda Express, a well-known American Chinese fast-food chain.
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 cup unsalted peanuts
- 4 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the chicken with soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Heat the remaining vegetable oil in the same pan. Add the garlic, ginger, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Return the cooked chicken to the pan. Add the peanuts and green onions. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
- Serve the Kung Pao Chicken hot, over steamed rice.
