Kung Pao Paneer

Ingredients

  • 1 block of paneer, cubed
  • 1/4 cup peanuts
  • 2-3 dried red chilies
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, sliced
  • 2 spring onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry the paneer cubes until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add peanuts and dried red chilies. Fry until the peanuts are golden. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the remaining oil, sauté the onions, bell peppers, garlic, ginger, green chilies, and white parts of the spring onions until they are slightly tender.
  4. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and cornstarch. Pour this mixture into the pan and stir well.
  5. Add the fried paneer, peanuts, and dried red chilies to the pan. Toss everything together until the paneer is well coated with the sauce.
  6. Garnish with the green parts of the spring onions and serve hot.
