Ingredients

  • 1 pound of fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2-3 red chilies, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the sliced mushrooms with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the coated mushrooms and fry until crispy and golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed. Sauté the minced garlic and sliced red chilies until fragrant.
  4. Return the crispy mushrooms to the pan. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and water. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh cilantro.
