Kyar Zan Kyaw (crispy Chili Mushroom Stir Fry)
Kyar Zan Kyaw, also known as Crispy Chili Mushroom Stir Fry, is a popular dish in Burmese Chinese cuisine. This flavorful and spicy stir fry is made with crispy mushrooms and a delicious chili sauce, making it a perfect dish for spice lovers.
Ingredients
- 1 pound of fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
- 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
- 3-4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2-3 red chilies, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1/2 cup of water
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss the sliced mushrooms with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the coated mushrooms and fry until crispy and golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed. Sauté the minced garlic and sliced red chilies until fragrant.
- Return the crispy mushrooms to the pan. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and water. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh cilantro.
