Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, ends trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Xinjiang chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 2 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the Xinjiang chili flakes, ground cumin, and salt to the wok. Stir-fry for 1 minute to release the flavors.
  4. Add the blanched green beans to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
  5. Drizzle the soy sauce and rice vinegar over the green beans, and toss to combine. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Transfer the spicy green beans to a serving dish and serve hot.
