La Serena Cheese Cake, or Tarta de Queso de la Serena, is a traditional dessert from the Extremadura region of Spain. This creamy and indulgent cheesecake is a perfect way to enjoy the unique flavors of La Serena cheese.
Ingredients
- 250g La Serena cheese
- 200g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 200ml heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 200g graham cracker crumbs
- 100g unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a springform pan to create the crust.
- In a separate bowl, beat the La Serena cheese and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract.
- Pour the cheese mixture over the crust in the springform pan.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until the center is almost set.
- Allow the cheesecake to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
