Lab (spicy Beef Salad)
Lab is a traditional Lao spicy beef salad that is bursting with flavors of fresh herbs, lime juice, and chilies. This refreshing and zesty salad is perfect for a light and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup shallots, thinly sliced
- 2-3 Thai chilies, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fish sauce
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1 tbsp roasted rice powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the beef, mint leaves, cilantro leaves, green onions, shallots, and Thai chilies.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the garlic, fish sauce, lime juice, roasted rice powder, sugar, and salt.
- Pour the dressing over the beef and herb mixture, and toss to combine.
- Let the salad marinate for 10 minutes before serving.
