Lahad Datu Crab Curry
Lahad Datu Crab Curry is a delicious and flavorful dish that originates from the Sabahan Cuisine in Malaysia. This dish is known for its rich and aromatic curry sauce that pairs perfectly with fresh crab meat.

Ingredients
- 1 kg fresh crab, cleaned and cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 2 tbsp curry powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 stalk lemongrass, bruised
- 4 kaffir lime leaves
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Heat the cooking oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add the curry powder, turmeric powder, and chili powder. Stir well to combine.
- Add the tomatoes, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the coconut milk and water. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add the crab pieces to the pot. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the crab is cooked through.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Serve the Lahad Datu Crab Curry hot with steamed rice.
