Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large lavash bread or thin flatbreads

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground lamb or beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, diced tomatoes, parsley, minced garlic, tomato paste, paprika, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is well combined and the vegetables are tender.
  3. Preheat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place a lavash bread in the skillet and spread a portion of the meat mixture evenly over the bread. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is crispy and the meat is heated through.
  4. Repeat with the remaining lavash bread and meat mixture.
  5. Serve the lahmacun hot, cut into wedges, and enjoy!
